The term is now quite popular, and the concept is simple.  Yet many people are unclear of what redesign is all about and how it’s different than traditional interior design. Think of redesign as a make-over, facelift or enhancement of the space in your home.  Imagine your rooms as those shown in a model home. You don’t need to go out and buy the expensive furnishings or the latest designer pieces to achieve that look.  Using what you already own, your rooms can be transformed in just one day.

Redesign involves an in depth look at the current space (likes, dislikes, wants, needs, desires, etc). First and foremost, the room should be functional and reflect YOUR family lifestyle and current needs.  Your home should make you feel at ease.  It should showcase your treasures and highlight your personal style.  Redesign is a way to think “outside the box” and repurpose the things in your home to create brand new rooms. As part of the process, we “shop” among the other rooms in your home for treasures that might work in a better location!  Some may want to include some new accessories, wall hangings or accent pieces (it’s amazing what new throw pillows or just a new lamp can do to a space!).  The low cost of a redesign is possible because the majority of things being used are your existing furnishings.

Do you love your large living room, but find the current arrangement lacks a “homey” feel?

Do you think your space is too small and  feel there nothing you can do about it?

Do you constantly flip through décor magazines or watch home makeover TV shows, hoping to get inspired?

Do you buy new things, but find that they just don’t seem to fit in?

Do you just have trouble pulling it all together for a cohesive look?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, a one day makeover could rescue your home! If you are blending families or trying to mix his with hers, if you are trying to downsize or are just tired of not loving the rooms in your home – give redesign a try (and save your wallet)!
