I have met many people that are new to the concept of redesign versus traditional interior design. What I love about redesign is that it fits today’s lifestyle and economy. The focus is on using what you already have in your home but using it in a different way! After all, you probably still like most things in your home and aren’t necessarily ready (or able) to trash everything and start over. But with that being said, I’m sure there are rooms in your home that you feel need some refreshing since they have looked the same for the past 10 years. In redesign, we use all your existing furnishings in order to redesign the space (and it’s usually done in a day!).
The first step in the redesign process is to evaluate the room (likes, dislikes, wants, needs, etc.). This then helps to paint the picture for redesigning the space. Next, the room is cleared out entirely and then the space is redesigned piece by piece always taking into consideration functionality and lifestyle. The process is fun, exciting and cost effective since no additional purchases are necessary (but can be incorporated). I have redesigned and re-redesigned the rooms in my home many times. In fact, whenever we have a major change in our lives (i.e. a new baby on the way) I end up redesigning all the rooms that we spend most our time in to incorporate the necessary changes!
